Today, because of the interconnected nature of business processes, disaster recovery planning has evolved into business recovery planning. As a result of this, at the planning level a need to develop an organization-wide business recovery plan has become very important and critical for sustaining operation after a disaster strikes.
The steps involved in disaster recovery planning are numerous and wide-ranging. There can be various approaches depending on the organisation, type of business, etc. We will try to present an overview of the process, along with key points, which are to be kept in mind.
Some of the recommended steps for creating proper disaster recovery plan are listed in the form of a Table. This list will certainly undergo changes depending on the organisation, it's business, etc. and hence should be used as guidelines while working on the planning process.
